In February the Russian car market decreased by third
According to the data of ÀÅB, sales of cars and light commercial transport in Russia following the results of February, 2010 decreased by 32% to 91922 cars. They remark some stabilization of the Russian car market in ÀÅB, citing as an example the January fall by 37%. However analysts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" pay attention that the result of last month is still by 24.7% lower than the monthly average indexes in 2009 (122.1 thousand cars per month). Negative dynamics against last year is partially explained by high level of sales of cars of 2008. Meanwhile, in relation to last month the February result surpasses sales in January by 24%, which is a much shorter working month. Following the results of first two months of 2010 realization of cars in Russia decreased by 34% and made 165862 units.
Leadership in the Russian car market is kept by the brand Lada and in February AVTOVAZ realized 20147 cars (-31%). Hyundai still occupies the second place with realization volume in 6703 cars and this is less by 13% than the year before. Chevrolet closes "three" of leaders which result is 6271 cars (42%). Thus, despite 21%-growth Kia fell on the fourth place with 5660 sold cars. Renault keeps the fifth place realizing 4874 cars (-11%). Ford (4439 units,-58%), Toyota (4025 units,-38%), Nissan (3538 units,-52%), GAZ (3492 units,-3%) and Daewoo (3056 units,-24%) are also in ÒÎÐ-10 of the best sold brands following the results of February.
