LADA bypassed TOYOTA in sales of new cars in the Far East
According to the data of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT"1715 new LADA cars were registered in Far East Federal District in 2009. VAZ production bypassed even the most widespread Far East brand – TOYOTA in popularity which sales volume made 1455 cars. Thus analysts specify that it is a question only of new cars which total market in Far East Federal District following the results of last year equaled only 6.5 thousand cars (0.5% from all-Russian).
According to Sergey Tselikov, the director of the agency "AUTOSTAT", if to analyze registration of cars with mileage then leadership is unconditionally kept by TOYOTA. More than half (79.6 thousand units) out of total volume of secondary market of Far East Federal District (145.3 thousand units) fall on this Japanese brand. Also Sergey Tselikov says that despite leadership, it is early for AVTOVAZ to rejoice its success in the Far East. More than 80% of sales there fall on the family "Niva" (860 units) and “Classics” (583 units). Thus new models LADA Priora and LADA Kalina are hardly sold in the Far East in general (79 and 54 cars correspondingly).
One more interesting fact of the market of new cars in the Far East is the Russian brand UAZ which occupied the third place, its sales volume made 583 cars, analysts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" remark. According to their data NISSAN (475 units), FORD (316 units) and MITSUBISHI (315 units), LEXUS (263 units), SUZUKI (244 units), RENAULT (177 units) and ÑHEVROLET (163 units) are also in ten leaders.
