On the second place of the customer interest in AUTOVAZ production by this program is LADA Kalina (18,1%). The LADA Samara attracted the less interest of LADA customers (16,7%). Then LADA Priora goes and it has 11,3% of inquires by the utilization program. Niva attracted the less interest of the customers – 6,7%.
It will be recalled that the share of “AVTOVAZ” production is about 80% of all cars that are sold in Russia by the utilization program. According to “AUTOSTAT” data the share of cars that are sold by utilization program in the internal market is 36% of the “AVTOVAZ” total sales volume (totally – 317 693 units, by utilization program – 115 376 units). Besides, during the last months of summer the share of these cars grew to 47-48% of the LADA cars total sales.

03 | 09 | 2010 According to the information that was received by “AUTOSTAT” agency from the representatives of company Hyundai in Moscow automobile show (MIAS-2010), the official opening of an assembly plant Hyundai in St. Petersburg will be on September 20-s. The enterprise is working now in the testing regime.
The Koreans bank on the new model of C-class that was showed in MIAS-2010 as a concept-car Hyundai RB. The car will be on sale in the beginning of the next year. The marketing experts of Hyundai think that the main competitor of the new model will be Volkswagen Polo Saloon. Correspondingly, the price positioning will be made with an orientation on this model (the price for the new saloon car Polo in RF starts from Rubles 399 thousand).
“The investments in the construction of Russian plant will be Euro 500 million, the maximum productive capacity in the first year of work will be 100 thousand cars and in 2012 it will be increased to 150 thousand cars”, has informed in the presentation at the conference in MIAS-2010 Mr. Petrunin, the managing director of “Hyundai Motor SNG”. According to his words the new model Hyundai RB was made especially for the Russian market and it was adapted for the Russian conditions. The sales plan for 2011 is to sell 65 thousand cars that will allow Hyundai to realize the ambition sales plan and to expend the presence in the mass segment “C”.
According to the information that was presented by Mr. Petrunin at the conference “Automotive business-2010”, the company Hyundai plans to sell in Russia 78 thousand of cars in this year and in 2012 it plans to increase twice this result by realizing on the Russian market 160 thousand cars. According to the opinion of Mr. Tselikov, the director of “AUTOSTAT” agency, the Russian Hyundai plans are real. «The correlation price-quality of Korean cars meets the requirements of Russian drivers and recognizability and confidence to the brand is growing every year. Hyundai could have 6-8% of the Russian market by the right price positioning and wide model range”, said the expert.

During the day the quotation of securities grew by 28%. The preferred shares of “AVTOVAZ’ became more expensive by 15,04% till Rubles 5,636. The “Vedomosti” informs that from the middle of August the funds of the plant have increased in price by 89 and 65 %, respectively.
The experts think that the precondition of this growth was the finished motor race of Mr. Putin by LADA Kalina car and his promise to increase custom duties for foreign cars. Another possible reason of boom demand is coming additional emission of “AVTOVAZ”’s shares and the expectations of some investors of the following after that offer of “Russian technologies”. The market participants could wait for either increasing of duties or offers but there is no guarantee that it will be. The officers of Ministry of industry and trade told the representatives of “Vedomosti” that the increasing of duties is not being prepared. The source that is allied to one of “AVTOVAZ” shareholder informed that there won’t be offer in this year because by the results of the first additional emission stage “Russian technologies” will increase the share to 29%.

02 | 09 | 2010  The Chinese manufacturer of fuel elements for Thunder Sky cars and state corporation “Rosnano” are going to build a production of lithium-ion automotive batteries valued at Rubles 13,9 milliard. “Vedomosti” informs that the joint venture “Liotech” was registered on February 3rd, 2010, the founders of which are Thunder Sky and “Rosnano”. “Rosnano” has announced that each of the company will invest to the project Rubles 2,24 milliard and state corporation will grant a loan of Rubles 5,5 milliard; the external co-investor that will become a founder of “Liotech” also must invest Rubles 3,9 milliard.
“Thunder Sky is one of the leading manufacturers of lithium-ion batteries in the world and his decisions leave behind the products of its competitors by the engineering level and by cost”, has explained the choice of the business partner Mr. Polikarpov, the managing director of “Rosnano”. Mr. Shaoping Lu, the general director of Thunder Sky, in the interview with Forbes said that the company produces automotive batteries during the five years and in 2009 it produced batteries for 30 000 cars. The capacity of Russian plant is 12 000 batteries per year.
During the first four years the company “Liotech” will export all products to China but it also plans to find the customers in Russia.
As it was recalled earlier, the mass production of electromobiles in Russia in the nearest future is not expected.

In August, 2010, it was sold 45 094 LADA cars in Russia. So, the sales increased by 55% than in August of the previous year. By the utilization program it was sold 21 787 LADA cars in August. It was shipped 3 785 LADA cars to the sales export and during the first eight months of 2010 – 24 698 cars.
