10 | 03 | 2010 On March, 8th within the limits of the planned technical audit the Izhevsk car plant was visited by experts of the company Hyundai-Kia. Auditors carefully checked a system of quality management and also estimated readiness of equipment and divisions for manufacture start. Besides, on March, 9th Im Tak Yun, the president of “Kia Motors Rus”, arrived at "IzhAvto". He inspected capacities of the enterprise and carried on negotiations with management of the Izhevsk car plant and also met Jury Pitkevich, the chairman of the government of Udmurtiya. Mr. Yun especially noted readiness of the enterprise to renew production of cars any moment. However, concrete agreements about supplies of car kits for contract assembly of Kia models are not reached today.

10 | 03 | 2010 Demand for light commercial vehicles (LCV) fell to 44% in 2009 as 104216 units were sold unlike 186187 cars realized in 2008. Such data are given by Committee of manufacturers of commercial transport in the press release. Out of 15 brands presented in this category of transport (load-carrying capacity is up to 6 tons), five showed growth of sales. They are FIAT (+167%), Isuzu (+126%), Citroen (+86%), Peugeot (+73%) and Opel (+20%). Other brands lowered sales: Hyundai (-75%), Mercedes-Benz Vans (-55%), GAZ (-53%), Volkswagen NFZ and Nissan (-46%) each, Renault (-41%), UAZ and FORD (-39%) each, Toyota (-34%) and Iveco (-26%). According to participants of Committee, it is possible to name the positive moment that sales in 4 quarter of 2009 were higher than indexes of the last 3 quarters.
According to data of "AUTOSTAT", park of LCV in Russia made 3 324 467 units (as of 1.01.10). The biggest park of light commercial vehicles – 24.3% from all-Russian in the central federal district, experts remark.
For referential use, the manufacturers of the major foreign commercial vehicles brands in Russia got together in the Commercial Vehicle Committee (CVC) under the umbrella of the Association of European Businesses (AEB). The brands represented are Bus a Mercedes-Benz (EvoBus), Bus Setra (EvoBus), Citroen, FIAT (Sollers), Ford, Hyundai, Isuzu (Sollers), Iveco, MAN, a Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Renault Trucks, Peugeot, Scania, Volkswagen Nutzfahrzeuge and Volvo.

10 | 03 | 2010 According to the data of ÀÅB, sales of cars and light commercial transport in Russia following the results of February, 2010 decreased by 32% to 91922 cars. They remark some stabilization of the Russian car market in ÀÅB, citing as an example the January fall by 37%. However analysts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" pay attention that the result of last month is still by 24.7% lower than the monthly average indexes in 2009 (122.1 thousand cars per month). Negative dynamics against last year is partially explained by high level of sales of cars of 2008. Meanwhile, in relation to last month the February result surpasses sales in January by 24%, which is a much shorter working month. Following the results of first two months of 2010 realization of cars in Russia decreased by 34% and made 165862 units.
Leadership in the Russian car market is kept by the brand Lada and in February AVTOVAZ realized 20147 cars (-31%). Hyundai still occupies the second place with realization volume in 6703 cars and this is less by 13% than the year before. Chevrolet closes "three" of leaders which result is 6271 cars (42%). Thus, despite 21%-growth Kia fell on the fourth place with 5660 sold cars. Renault keeps the fifth place realizing 4874 cars (-11%). Ford (4439 units,-58%), Toyota (4025 units,-38%), Nissan (3538 units,-52%), GAZ (3492 units,-3%) and Daewoo (3056 units,-24%) are also in ÒÎÐ-10 of the best sold brands following the results of February.

10 | 03 | 2010 The French car manufacturer Citroen plans to sell 17-18 thousand cars in the Russian market in 2010 – that is by 40% more than last year (12388 cars). General director of Citroen in Russia Arno Ribot informed “RBC daily” about it in interview and remarked that the company expects to increase the share in the Russian market from 0.85% up to approximately 1.05%.
According to Mr. Ribot, in 2010 Citroen plans to reach growth of sales at the expense of start of new C3 in April and DS3 in May and also of a new longer version of the commercial vehicle Berlingo. The head of Citroen in Russia also remarked that with start of manufacture of models C4 in June and C-Crosser in September at the new plant in Kaluga the price of these models will be reconsidered at the expense of improvement of their versions. Besides, within the limits of the brand advancement in the largest Russian cities Citroen plans to open ten new dealer outlets this year.
As for the model Citroen which will be developed on the basis of Ñ4 especially for Russia then according to Mr. Ribot, it will be a sedan and its production will start at the beginning of 2013. Under preliminary estimations, during the first year of manufacture the new sedan will occupy 30-40% in production volume at the Kaluga plant and should become a best seller of Citroen in the Russian market. Also in 2012 it is planned to begin manufacture of a new off-roader in Kaluga which will replace C-Crosser. With the beginning of its production the Kaluga plant PSA/Peugeot Citroen and Mitsubishi will pass to a full cycle, Arno Ribot remarked. He said that in 2013-2014 the enterprise will make about 125 thousand cars, 85 thousand units out of them fall on models of brands Peugeot and Citroen of C segment and other volume - on off-roaders of three brands - participants of the enterprise. As a whole market potential of Citroen in Russia, according to Mr. Ribot is 80-100 thousand cars per year if the Russian market recovers to the pre-crisis level in 2.9-3 million cars.

10 | 03 | 2010 It becàme known to "AUTOSTAT" that yesterday in the morning many dealers could enter the site of Ministry of industry and trade to print the certificate form. Later the ministry site “hung” at all, probably did not sustain a stream of all people wishing to receive the information about the program or to prepare an application. It was also practically impossible to phone from regions by contact phones of the ministry.
At the same time, under the information placed on the site of Ministry of industry and trade, now 1214 certificates for car recycling within the limits of the state program are already given out.
1569 dealers and 153 utilizers take part in the recycling program. Some manufacturers announced about additional bonuses to attract buyers of their models if they wish to purchase new cars within the limits of the recycling program. So, for example, AVTOVAZ announced about additional discounts for models LADA 2105 and LADA Kalina, made last and at the beginning of this year. Their cost within the limits of the program taking into account the certificate for recycling is 99 and 199 thousand rubles correspondingly.
According to the agency "AUTOSTAT", as of the beginning of 2010 56.5% of LADA park is older than 10 years, however not all owners wish to exchange their car on a new one within the limits of the recycling state program. Many motorists are sure that can sell ten years" LADA cars for a bigger price than it is offered within the limits of the program.
